Invite a supplier to the Supplier Portal
Invite a supplier, such as a wholesaler or a fulfilment partner, to the Supplier Portal. It then logs in to Dropday to see the orders you send it and mark them as shipped.
In the portal, the supplier sees the orders and order lines sent to it, can filter them and can export them as a CSV file with the order ID, order date, products and shipping address. You need a supplier in Dropday and the email address of the person who should get access.
Invite the supplier
In the sidebar, click Suppliers and open the supplier's page.
Decide which order line details the supplier sees. If the supplier has no Add to Supplier Portal action yet, click Add action, choose Add to Supplier Portal, select the details and save. A new action shows quantity, name, reference and purchase price, so remove the purchase price if the supplier shouldn't see it.
Click Invite supplier. In "Invite to the Supplier Portal", fill in Email and click Send invite.
While an invitation is waiting for the supplier, the button reads Portal invite pending.
Sending the invitation adds an active Add to Supplier Portal action to the supplier if it doesn't have one yet, with the default details. You can change the details on that action later.
You can also invite a supplier from the Team page.
Until the supplier accepts
The Add to Supplier Portal action only delivers once the supplier has a portal account. Until then, order lines are logged as failed for this action, with "Supplier is not connected to the Supplier Portal yet". If the supplier should keep receiving orders in the meantime, keep another delivery method active, such as Send Email: Dropday uses every active delivery method.
You can resend or revoke the invitation. An invitation that has expired, was revoked or was already accepted no longer works, so resend it if the supplier's link has stopped working.
What the supplier does
The supplier opens the link in the invitation email and creates a login, or logs in if it already has one.
A supplier that receives your orders by email can also get access itself: the order page it opens from the email has a Get access button.
Result
Once the supplier has joined, your supplier list shows a badge for it, and its portal members appear on your Team page. From then on, order lines that a rule assigns to this supplier appear in its portal when the order comes in, unless the supplier holds orders for review.
Next, create a rule that assigns order lines to this supplier, if you haven't yet.
