Order details and extra product fields

See which order details and extra product fields your webshop sends to Dropday, and how to show them to your supplier. What arrives depends on your webshop platform, and a field only reaches your supplier once you add it to what they receive.

What an order can carry

Besides the products and the shipping address, an order in Dropday can carry:

  • a shipping name, shipping description and shipping cost;

  • a shipping note and a delivery date;

  • custom fields with simple values, on the order and on each order line, and labels on products.

There is no field for a delivery time or time slot; only a delivery date exists.

What each platform sends

  • Shopify:

    • it sends the shipping method the customer chose and the customer's order note as the shipping note;

    • it sends line item properties as custom fields per order line, which is where most personalisation apps store their data, such as engraving text or an uploaded image. Hidden properties, whose name starts with an underscore, are sent too.

    • it doesn't send a delivery date, product or variant metafields, or cart and note attributes. The selected variant, such as a size or colour, is only part of the product name.

  • WooCommerce:

    • it sends the shipping method, the customer note as the shipping note, and a delivery date read from known delivery-date plugins, with configurable meta keys;

    • it sends the product meta fields you list in the plugin settings, for example a supplier code; Connect WooCommerce shows where;

    • it doesn't send a time slot, checkout fields, order meta, or personalisation that an app stores on the order line.

  • PrestaShop: the carrier and its delivery time, the customer's non-private messages, and the product customizations per order line. Other custom product data isn't sent.

  • Shopware: the shipping method, its description and the earliest delivery date, the customer's note, and the product options of each order line. Other custom product data isn't sent.

  • Wix: the shipping cost, the customer's note and the selected options per order line. The shipping method and other custom product data aren't sent.

  • Magento: no shipping information, no customer notes, no product options and no custom product data.

  • Dropday API: your own system can send custom fields per order and per product. Connect another platform through the API shows how.

Show a field to your supplier

Dropday stores these details on the order and its order lines, but a supplier only sees a field you add to what they receive. A field you don't configure anywhere stays hidden from the supplier.

  • Supplier email: add a column for the field to the product table of the email. Send orders by email explains the email settings.

  • Packing slip, supplier order page and Supplier Portal: add a rule per field in the packing slip settings, for example custom.gravering: "Gravering". The field then appears as a column at the products. Packing slips explains the settings.

  • FTP and API Call: include the field in the content of the file or message yourself. Order files and field mapping and Send orders to a supplier's API explain how.

Cost price and the supplier's own SKU

  • Cost price: supplier emails and order files can show the cost price per product when the webshop sends it. Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Shopware send it; Magento and Wix don't, and Dropday doesn't take it from the supplier's product feed.

  • Supplier's own SKU: to show it on supplier orders, it has to arrive with the order as extra product information, which works with WooCommerce (by listing the product field in the plugin settings) or when you send orders through the Dropday API. Otherwise supplier orders show your own SKU and EAN.
